18 months

Time flies! Desiree is 18mths!

The last time we brought her to our family doc was @ 16mths for her jab. The doc measured her and she was 81cm and 9.5kg.
This morning we tried to measure her and she is still 81cm but weighing 10kg. Nowadays it's quite challenging to carry her cuz our arms will be numbed within minutes from carrying her!!

She has also learnt a few new words like bee, whale, mao (cat) but her all time favorite is still gou (dog). In fact she learnt how to say GOU at about 12 mths. We tried to teach her some new words then but she refuses and only says GOU. Even when she sees birds, duck or whatever animal, it is still GOU to her!

She also learnt how to say meimei cuz my neighbor just delivered a baby girl, korkor and didi.

Other than these, i guess her speech development is quite slow! lol. i guess we just have to let nature takes its course. =)

Mummy has been very busy and lazy that I have not been blogging for Desiree for a while. Was looking at her old photos and videos and realised that it's time to do some cleanup soon!!

14mths

Little Desiree can finally walk on her own before she reaches 14mths! She enjoys walking and yakking so much that she could pace up and down the bedroom, walked around the coffee table, in and out of the kitchen and study room until we are tired to watch after her. SO one day, we just left her alone and suddenly we dun hear the bells on her anklet....only to realise she has climbed onto the bed to 'rest' ha...

but poor desiree has got a stye on her left eye for more than 2 weeks now. brought to 2 GPs and KK on 15/5 and still hasnt heal so now gotta wait for 31/5 for an appt with the eye specialist. the pic above shows her 'kapoing' at KK hosp on Sat. She was walking around, listening to strangers talking, watching cartoon there. Hope the pus get drained out soon cuz it's been quite heartwrenching to see her pretty eye turned puffy and red.

Yesterday when i came home, i heard her shout 'me' as in like 'mummy'. so cute. so far she only calls my dad 'GONG' and 'MA' once.
She learns things quite fast. For eg, i immitated the sound of tigers and lions to her and now when i say "LION" or "TIGER" she will also immitate the roaring sound. Ha.
she also loves to dance when she hears music. Her fav song is Nobody by wondergirls. Think this is the most popular song for children nowadays and Desiree is no exception!

Milestones

mummy has been real busy lately....and really hasn't got time to
blog! Feel so guilty.

Some milestones for lil Desiree :

I would say Desiree is quite a fast learner! At 10mths+ she has learnt how to shake her head (really vigorously) when we say " don't want, don't want". It's quite a funny scene cuz she will really shake left to right many times.

She knows how to do "twinkle twinkle little stars" with both her hands when I sing to her

Her first word other than "ba ba mum mum" is "GONG"! Ah gong us really honored and excited!

She ate her 1st French fries at 12mths+

Learnt to stand before she turns 1

Walked a few steps at 13mths but still needs support

Has her 9th tooth at 13mths

She has grown a tad taller - now abt 75 cm tall and 8.5kg (on the slim side)- 12mths

Desiree is One!

Desiree turns ONE! Time really flies! Had her in my tummy for 40wks. Endured 7.5hrs of pain before she was delivered! And now she's one!

We celebrated her birthday on 13th Mar, Sat with about 40 guests. Really appreciate those who came and we thank you guys for your generous gifts and red packets. We hav decided not to hold 2 sessions like during her baby shower where we hav more than 100 guests!
And thank god we didn't! Cuz Desiree was ill since fri. Mr Yap took her to the doc on fri nite cuz she was running a fever @ 38.2deg and having diarrhea and vomiiting. Her fever subsided the same nite but she appeared lethargic during the party. She got cranky during cake cutting and we couldn't take pics with the star... Sigh... After most of the guests left, she started to LS and we rushed her to KKH where she was put on observations while taking pedialite, aka glucose water to prevent dehydration. Just as we tot her diarrhea has stopped, she started vomiiting the next day... Really felt heartpain to see her like this..sob. After another nite's rest, she started to show signs of recovery. Although she was feeling unwell, she still try to smile/play w us. Muz admit lil Desiree is a pretty brave girl! Happy birthday baobeibei, Mummy loves u 

On another note, desiree has been quite cheeky lately. She has been taking all opportunities to bite me! My chin, hands n legs!! Funny thing is she only bite me!!! The rest of the family is taking this as a joke!! So bad! Hope she'll stop this soon! Sob.

2 wks ago I also had a mini bday celebration w my family! Mr Yap took me out on a shopping spree!! Cuz he got his bonus too! Lucky me!  as I was not feeling well, we took a quick lunch at coffee club before I started my spree! Just a mere few hours, I got myself a pair of Levis with blingbling, a pair of earrings, a necklace and a wristlet! Love u bb.
Mum cooked bday mee sua for me as usual and we had the creamiest cheescake ever fr bakerzin! Yummie!! Really love their cheescake tat we bought 2 whole cakes! Also becuz they were on promo! Love the blackforest n caramel cheesecake!

Haven been able to blog recently cuz have been very busy lately. Desiree will turn one in about a month's time!! so fast! Have been planning to do a family portrait but still doing research on the different (many) photographers. Like back to the days when we do research for our wedding..sigh...still cant decide which one to go to!!

Desiree @ 9.5mths

Desiree is growing so fast! now she is able to stand up by holding on to something stable eg bed frame, sofa etc...sooon she'll be able to walk on her own..!!! Last year today i was only 8mths preggy! time really flies!!

Saw Desiree's 3rd teeth yesterday. finally got her 1st upper front tooth (left) since 7 mths when she grew her lower teeth...her cousin Baylen who is only 12 days older has 8teeth already!

Tried to measure her last Thursday but couldnt get a exact height. maybe 70cm?
Miss her so much when she is at MIL's place...keep thinking about her and her giggles =)

The day that Desiree drew A TUBE of blood from her little finger...

Had to do that cuz im a HepB carrier and that's the main reason why i couldnt breastfeed her.

It was worth it! cuz she has been tested -ve! yay.

The process was heartwrenching..seeing the nurse pricking her little finger and squeezing blood out of it! poor gal.. we brought her out after that and she was enjoying her shopping at the supermarket heh

Lost the rest of the pics on my phone cuz it was overheated!! and i gotta exchange for a new phone @ starhub. super addicted to my phone now! no wonder edwin din mind buying it for me...cuz it could have been his phone that's overheated! heh so only left pics that Ive uploaded to FB.
Look how she has grown...looking more like a girl nw? oh and she knows how to shake shake when she hears wonder girls - nobody....haven manage to capture it on video yet...shall try.
